Full Description

{1} c.1903 a possible burial was found. Sherds of a Bronze Age collared urn of Primary Series were found somewhere in ironstone quarrying pre 1911; RCHME suggests ngr SP871809. Bronze Age settlement or burial (?)(probably SP 871809). Worked flints and fragments of 'Bronze Age pottery' were discovered here during ironstone-mining in 1903 (cf. OS Record cards [SP 78 SE 14] for a more doubtful location). These finds appear to have come from the same workings as much of the Roman material [SP 88 SE 1]. The sherds are those of a Collared Urn of the Primary Series.

{2} Possibly same site as RN 8680001.
