Monument record 3957/0/21 - Romano-British Features, North Park Avenue

Archaeological observation in c1960 identified Roman deposits including a paved area associated with 2nd-4th century AD finds.

{1} (probably around SP 877800) A paved area associated with 2nd to 4th-century pottery was noted during development work before 1961.

{3}Possible limestone paved area revealed & AD C2nd-4th finds made; AD C3rd bronze coin of Constantine II; inscribed "providentia Caes"; pottery included Samian & grey ware & a Romano-British scored tile; animal bone also revealed; trench was 20ft x 7.5ft-3.5ft on site of garage in Northpark Drive/Weekley Glebe; approximate location only;
