Three Collared Urns, one of the Primary Series, and a handled food vessel were found, presumably during ironstone-mining at Rothwell before 1903

Full Description

{1} Bronze Age cinerary urns & handled food vessel presumably found during ironstone quarrying before 1903; Northampton Museum hold items but no siting information other than 'from Rothwell';

{2} 3 cinerary urns & unusual handled cup found 'at Rothwell'; all contained burnt bones;

{3} Illustrations of 3 collared urns & handled food vessel found 'at Rothwell'; pls XXII 296 bis; LXVI 62; LXVII 64 68;

{4} 3 collared urns including 1 of Primary Series; also handled food vessel; found presumably during ironstone quarrying at Rothwell before 1903.

{5} A pre-Roman cinerary urn, 10ins high was found at Rothwell in 1898.

{6} A food vessel Abercromby type 5, in Cambridge Museum, was found at Rothwell. (Illustration shows this as additional to the above.

{7} Northampton Museum hold 3 cinerary urns and a handled food vessel (auths 1 & 2) without precise siting, from Rothwell. They also hold a BA cinerary urn found 1898 in field OS 408 (authy 3) Rothwell. They have no information relating to the food vessel recorded as in Cambridge Museum.
