Full Description

{1} SP742576. Gas pipe trench dug in 1966. Ditch dug into limestone. Iron Age pottery and slag in the fill. The site is 1/2 mile south east of the Hunsbury Hill fort and although the trench virutally skirted the defences nothing further was seen.

{7} In this area the gas pipe-line runs approx NS and the eastings can be given more precisely as 7420. The finds were shown to Jackson by the workmen but he did not visit the site, merely reporting it to the Museum. The field is now under pasture.
