Full Description

{1} Find of an early Saxon inhumation with grave goods including a scramasax, knife and spearhead of Swanton type C2. Perhaps from the south east part of the village, SP714815.

{4} An Anglo Saxon skeleton with scramasax, spearhead and knife, was found at Clipston. Now in Northants Museum (shown on map at SP 720823)

{9} '...and Desborough must therefore be classed with Brixworth, Holdenby, Clipston and Northampton as exhibiting traces of both methods of burial in vogue among the Teutonic invaders..." (but this is all that VCH says about AS burials at Clipston)
