Find Spot record 4473/0/2 - Unstratified Neolithic and Bronze Age flint

Large amount of worked flint found over a large area

{1}Fieldwalking; Flint working sites cover an area of some 26 hectares south and south-west of Brampton Grange on Northampton Sand between 70m and 100m above OD. Some of the findspots are associated with cropmarks of the Brampton Complex. Over 2000 flints, mainly of Neolithic and Bronze Age type, inluding waste flakes, scrapers and cores, have been found over a large area; one of the locations (one of four) is at SP727651.

{4} Further fieldwalking undertaken ahead of trial trenching in 1988-9, identified a cluster of flint arrowheads in this approximate location.
