Full Description

{1} SP71926622. The pipeline trench cut through a post hole about 9yds south of a hedgerow. It was 3ft deep from the ground surface, circular and about 8ins in diameter near the bottom. There was no trace of a post pipe. Within the fill was found a sherd of prehistoric pottery, possibly of late Bronze Age date. Another indeterminate sherd was found nearby.

{2} In 1970 a pipeline trench cut through a single post hole, 1m deep at this point. It contained a single sherd of prehistoric pottery, although another sherd was found nearby.

{3} Features found by W.R.G.Moore in June/July 1970 during pipeline development. Ditches and a single post hole 1m deep with a Bronze Age pot sherd. Also a Romano-British pot sherd nearby.
