Full Description

{1} A thumb flint, now in Northampton Museum, and Roman coins and pottery in the possession of Mr Whitbread, have been found at Roade (SP 7551).

{3} A flint scraper and Roman coins and pottery were found in the parish before 1904. This may refer to
Roman material in the British Museum which includes potter, a bronze strap-end and a coin of Antoninis Pius.

{4} The family name of Whitbread is not known locally. Northampton Museum cannot trace the above finds.
