Full Description

{1} Earthworks visible on aerial photograph; possible medieval manor of Easton Neston, situated south of the church. A few low banks and scarps are likely to represent the site of the manor house.

{2} The old house was demolished by 1682 by Sir Fermor to make way for a more fashionable one with parterres, avenues and canals. The subsequent house was completed in true 1700-1740 style. The plan of the house from Sir C. Wren was published by Cohen Campbell in 1717 in Vitrivius Britannicus (I, 98-100).
