Summary

Roman glass beaker of circa 100 AD found on the estate at Stoke Park House. It was purchased by the Ashmolean Museum. A light-coloured urn has also been found in the parish.

Full Description

{1} Find (location unknown) of "The Newport Pagnell Beaker", so called because it was purchased by a man from Newport Pagnell, at Sotherbys in 1967. Before this it belonged to the Vernon family of Stoke Bruerne and was reputedly found on their estate.

{3} Stoke Bruerne. Roman urn (Prob refers).

{4} A Roman glass beaker, a unique import of the Flavian period, was found during ironstone working pre 1916, apparently with other remains and a 'light-coloured urn', possibly Roman, is also recorded.

{7} Purchased by the Ashmolean.

{11} A light-coloured urn, possibly Roman, was found.

{13} A glass beaker 5 3/4" high, pale green with a studded surface, dated c 100 AD. It was found on the estate at Stoke Park House.
