Full Description

{1} A very large number of prehistoric flint tools have been found at various times in the are of Hunsbury hillfort though the esact locations are not recorded. These include over 130 cores, microliths and flakes of Mesolithic type (in Northampton Museum) and another 50 or so cores, scrapers and flakes, generally of Mesolithic to Bronze Age types (see also 4993/0/0) (in Peterborough Museum) all isted as 'from the Hunsbury area'. Other Mesolithic material, including microliths, found in 1904-12 on the north side of Hunsbury Hill is noted.

{2} Northampton Museum flints possibly found 1904-12; may be from Duston or Hunsbury.

{3} Several Peterborough Museum flints dated 27/4/1905.
