Full Description
{1} Neolithic & Bronze Age flints found including cores & scrapers & borers;
{2} 50 or so cores, scrapers and flakes, generally of Mesolithic to Bronze Age types (see also 4991/0/0) (in Peterborough Museum) all isted as 'from the Hunsbury area'. Neolithic type flints, including arrowheads and a small polished axehead are also recorded from the area. At least some of thismaterial may have come from the general area of the neolithic causewayed enclosure to the north but this cannot now be proved. Further worked flints of Neolithic and Bronze Age forms, perhaps from within or very close the the hillfort are known.
{2} {3} Two small Bronze Age 'cups', 'from Hunsbury' are in Northampton Museum.
{4} Finds of "many prehistoric worked flints & Neolithic arrowheads, & part of a small polished flint axe". Found "in the fields below Hunsbury".
{6} A considerable number of Neolithic arrowheads and other worked flints have been found in the fields below Hunsbury Camp (SP 7358), and are now in Northampton Museum; so is part of a small polished axe found near Hunsbury.
{7} Worked flints and a small palaeolith from Hunsbury are on display in Northampton Museum. No Neolithic arrowheads from Hunsbury are recorded.
