Find Spot record 5813/0/9 - Unstratifed Roman Coin(s)

A 1st century Roman coin found at a depth of 2 feet during pipe laying work.

{1} Finds made in 1947 including a Romano-British sestertius of Nero. Found 2ft down whilst laying pipes along the drive of Upton Hall, just inside the white gates off the Northampton to Weedon Road. Found at SP71956024.

{3} Sestertius of Nero found 2 feet down when laying pipes, summer 1947. Details from Mr Whitelock, 20 Cattle Market Road, Northampton.

{4} SP 7195 6024: Roman Coin found AD 1947.

{5} No 20 is bricked up and unoccupied. Mr Whitelock's present whereabouts could not be ascertained.
