Full Description

Quarry observation by G Foard, 18/5/88. An area of limestone observed in the quarry face, which appears as a metalled surface composed of medium to small rubble up to 1ft thick. Undated, but lies close to a buried channel, both of which might be associated with a recent dyke? Possibly runs north-south;

{1} Undated limestone and glacial pebble horizon up to 0.40m thick and at least 19m long exposed in section at the temporary edge of overburden stripping. The stone horizon overlay a silt clay and pebble layer and two narrow pits or ditches which contained charcoal and ash.

{2} Watching brief 1988-90 by G Cadman; limestone and pebble layer exposed during gravel extraction; overlay possible buried layer;
