Full Description

{2} Finds; Roman coarse wares and part of a quern thought to be of the same period have been found.

{4} (SP 768483) A section of possible Romano-British quern was found together with coarse-ware pottery and medieval shereds (see SP 74 NE 12) during ploughing about 5 years ago by O. Ransom (a). He indicated the site on the OS 6", and retains the finds.

{5} Roman settlement (SP 768483) lies on the extreme SW of the parish on Boulder Clay at 72 m. above OD, and on the same site as a
medieval settlement. Roman coarse wares and part of a quern thought to be of the same period have been found.
