Summary

An undated ditch observed during a watching brief at Earls Barton Quarry. Aligned east to west, it was traced for c25m. Small quantities of animal bone, a burnt clay fragment and small unidentifiable pottery chips were found

Full Description

{1} SP 88816371, an undated, broadly V-shaped ditch aligned ENE-WSW was recorded during overburden stripping. It was c3m wide and 0.50m deep and traced for c25m to the east. Occasional small bone fragments, burnt clay fragment and very small (undatable) pottery chips. May have been overlain by a very thin alluvial clay deposit.

Several small pits were also identified in the area to the south of this ditch but could not be recorded.
