Full Description

{1} Furtho Pit; Large trench like pit c 3m wide and with bottom up to 5m below ground surface, partially exposed within sand and gravel pit. Very approximately orientated N-S. The composition of the fill seemed to represent deliberate infilling. Two small post-medieval pot sherds found close to the base of the trench indicate that it is most likely of post-medieval date - possibly a small quarry.
