{2} Celtic coin found at Brackley. Rues 10 BC - AD10. Rues is thought to have been a ruler of the Catuvellauni / Trinovantes in the interregnum between the death of Tasciovanus and the accession of Cunobeline. It is likely that the coin would have been mited in Verulamium (St Albans). Rues only issued copper alloy coins. The distribution of the coins is almost entirely confined to Hertfordshire; it is certainly very unusual to find a piece so far west. AE unit, weight 1.69g.; Obv: lion in bezel, inscribed RVII; Rev: eagle with spread wings.
