Monument record 6042/0/1 - Probable Iron Age Features

A number of features observed eroding out from the southern bank of the River Tove. Charcoal and Iron Age pottery have also been recovered

{1} Features; ditches and pits eroding from the south bank of the river. Charcoal and Iron Age pottery has been reported on previous visits. The site extends 30m along the river bank.

{2} Cut features identified during site visit by G.Walker and S.Kidd. A ditch had been found with a lot of charcoal in the fill; also found were postholes and shallow pits. Iron Age pottery had been found at this location on a previous visit. The site extends approximately 30m alongside the riverbank.

{4} Notes and location plan regarding the observation of a ditch eroding out of the southern bank of the river Tove. Two sherds of probable LIA pottery were retrieved. This observation was probably the earliest of a sequence of visits.
