Full Description

{1} Larger stones and stone rubbble survived along the presumed line of the medieval roadway, but no dating evidence was found. Where seen in section it seems that only the bottom survived. The base was no more than 2.4m in width and initially the stones appear to have been filling ruts.

{2} At one point the trench cut through layers of stone, probably the old Buckingham to Brackley road.
