Full Description

{1} Parish church at Upper Catesby destroyed at Dissolution, rebuilt at priory site at Nether Catesby near mansion.

{2} After 1537 the church was demolished, except for a fragment at the east end. A chapel was built out on the east side and was said to be on the site of the chapter house; however the fittings, which in part survive, and the exterior with three two-light windows on the south and a three-light window in the east gable suggest that the whole structure was of early 17th-century date. The chapel was used for parochial worship.
