Full Description

{1} A broad expanse of dark loamy soil was found. The bedrock at this point consisted of an iron-rich rubble ironstone and the soil is perhaps infilling of a shallow quarry. The nature of the filling suggests that the quarrying is not modern and is most likely to be associated with the nearby settlement.
