Summary

A ditch or pit was observed in the section of a pipeline trench, and from the spoil heap the skull fragments of two individuals were recovered.

Full Description

{1} Workers found 2 human cranial fragments 10m to the south of a ditch/ pit seen in section. Beneath c.1.5m of "modern" build up in possible old stream bed. No dating evidence.

{2} Ditch or pit seen in section of pipeline trench, and from spoil heap skull fragments of two individuals.

{4} SP 68594859. Two skull fragments were found in 1978 presumably indicative of a cemetery outside the defended area of the town.
