Summary

Alleged Medieval pottery kiln, part of the Stanion pottery industry, was identified by a pottery scatter recorded in 1969. The kiln would have been in production sometime between the mid 12th century to the mid 14th century.

Full Description

{1} Finds of medieval pot sherds in the mid 1950s. Seen and possibly taken by Smith then excavating at Weldon villa. Possibly same as site name: Stanion

{2} Pottery was recovered in the mid 1950s according to information from the occupier of No.2 Little Street.

{4} At SP 914870, large quantities of medieval pottery found in 1969.
