A mound of undated slag and workings was identified during fieldwalking survey. Some or all of the slag may date from the Roman period.

Full Description

{1} Dark coloured mound of black slag and burnings 30m diameter lying in valley bottom. Iron Smelting site. Wide scatter of slag on all the fields north and east of the village. Date unproven, this site and some or all of the slag scatter could be Roman.
