Full Description

{1} Dark area with building stone, sherds of grey and colour-coated wares centred on a hollow way that must have formed a spectacular site until ploughed [after c.1840]. 120m east is an iron slag area and separate dark patch that is probably Romano-British. The hollow way goes east into the next field and there are dark areas at SP99619355; slag at SP99759341 and another dark area.
Further survey indicated that the site also goes west into the next field and seems to stop at a ditch. Stone buildings on either side with late colour-coated and shelly wares. Two sherds of possible Iron Age. To north at SP99309410 30m, SP99459403 50m are dark areas with burnt stone, pebbles.
