Full Description

{1} Fieldwalking in 1956 produced Romano-British pottery sherds, tiles, building stone, kiln remains and 4th century coins including a gold coin of Augustus. Northampton museum give grid ref as SP811598.

{4} Gold coin of Augustus having inscription of Gaius and Lucius on reverse found in ploughing two furlongs from Cliffords Hill in 1717.

{5} (SP 808607) "Found lately at Houghton a gold Gaius and Lucius"

{7} Northampton Museum records note this as from the field called "Ten Yards", but do not mention its present whereabouts. Two adjacent fields centred SP 813596 carry the name and finds made here indicate RB occupation (SP 85 NW) although they are about 1 km from Clifford Hill
