Full Description
{1} Found during ironstone working in 1927. Finds included a Roman cemetery with some burials in stone coffins, stone-lined wells, pottery and unspecified ornaments. Gives grid ref as SP921670.
{2} Some hundreds of inhumations found on the well known cemetery site. Several stone coffins were included, one of which contained a leaden coffin. Some of the graves were lined with hexagonal stone (collyweston) slates.
{4}A stone coffin was given by Mr James to Dorman Museum in Middlesborough
