{4} The mill was on Sywell Brook, a tributary of the River Nene, but is now under the resevoir, which forms part of NCC's Sywell Country Park.
1291 A mill in Sywell was held by the Prior of St Andrew's, Northampton.
1577 Licence granted to John Mershe, his wife, and son to alienate the manor of Sywell, which included one watermill and on windmill.
1769 John Bawcutt at Sywell Mill.
1854 Sale of George Worley's land in Sywell included a watermill occupied by John martin, and also that windmill in Mears Ashby occupied with the said watermill.
1902 Higham Ferrers and Rushden Water Board Act conferring powers on the Board to construct a reservoir at Sywell.
1906 Works and reservoir completed, covering the site of the mill.
1919 Reported 'Demolished since making of reservoir'.
1779 Eyre's map shows it, un-named; 1827 Bryant's map marks it Sywell Watermill; 1844 Tithe map showns the mill.
