Full Description

{1} Villa site represented by a significant find scatter. A large site on gravel and sand. Three large stone buildings the southernmost being probably the most important with a red tile roof TL07869452; TL07759430; TL07909455. Late sherds, colour-coated mainly. Important wet and boggy area with possible environmental remains.

{2} Adjustments to initial grid referencing of fieldwork reported via email in response to SMR query. "The sherd scatter is as mapped by the SMR, confined to a belt between the old railway and the brook. East of the brook is meadow/alluvium, so there would be no sherds to find there."
