Full Description

{4}Enclosed by Sir Chris Yelverton in Charles 1's reign, from then on hath been considerably depopulated. Now 30 houses. Earl of Sussex hath an antient mansion house - the chief resident of the family, since the purchase of this estate by Sir Chris Yelverton in reign of Queen Elizabeth. Adjoining house is a walled park and beyond a large inclosure surrounded by a stone wall in which a wood - Hall wood, now Horn wood. Present Lord is Talbot, created 1717 Earl of Sussec by George 1 (Yelverton family name) father died 1703 as Viscount Longueville.,{5}Illustration 1721 of east front (no garden shown).,{2}Park.,{3}Earl of Sussex.
