Full Description
{1}Two stone coffins, one being 4ft long and containing part of a female skeleton from the knees upward, the other being 2ft long containing the legs only and an urn and which was placed at the head of the larger coffin, were found in glebe land at Blatherwycke (Name: SP 9795). The coffins are now in the garden of the Rectory; the Rector has the urn.
{2} RCHM records another 'Roman urn' found in the parish which may be the same one as in source {1} above.
{6} Two stone coffins dug up on Blatherwycke glebe "a few years since". One contained a Roman pot, of which a drawing survives, dated 1846.

Found on the Glebe Land;
{8} The owner of the Old Rectory (SP 97179555) Lady Brassey, indicated two rough hewn rectangular stone 'receptacles' in her garden which she thought were mangers. The larger is c 18" deep and the smaller half that, and lengthwise conform to the measurements given by auth 1. Almost certainly the coffins, they are now filled with rocks, soil and flowers. The fate of the bones and pot was not ascertained.
