Full Description

{1} Romano-British well found in Ruskin Avenue, 70ft west of the junction between Ruskin Avenue and Stanwell Way

{2} (SO 87396709) "Stanwell Well" - 13' deep. RB sherds found Dec 1962 (near end of Stanwell Way) by Mr D Jackson.

{3} Mrs Watkins of the W&DAS said that the well was situated 70 ft west of the junction of Stanwell Way and Risbin Avenue. This sites it to approx SP 87236751; the well was not preserved and the sherds have been lost.

{6} Iron Age and Roman Settlement (SP 873674), N. and E. of Westfield Lodge, on limestone at 91m. above OD. Air photographs shows a series
of sub-rectangular and circular enclosures associated with lengths of ditch.
