Summary
Finds of Roman building debris including hypocaust tiles and pottery suggest a possible villa site. Worked flints and a scraper were also found.

Full Description
{1} Two stone areas and Romano-British pot sherds found, including greyware, colour-coated ware, Samian and tile fragments. Prehistoric flint scrapers found in general area;
{2} A large quantity of Roman pottery, including Nene Valley and Samian wares, and several fragments of hypocaust tiles have been found. Worked flints including scrapers have also been noted in the area. Published location TL02909017; several other published references to similar finds in adjacent areas.
{3} Roman pottery scatter. Grey ware, colour coated ware, plain samian, fragments of large vessels in shell tempered ware and several pieces of hypocaust tile. The Cotterstock villa lies 120m to the NE. (Roman settlement) Worked flints including scrapers, have also been noted in the area. NGR agrees with ref{2}.
{5} NH 48 Listed as the possible site of a Roman villa.
