Full Description

{1} The east side coincides with the Grafton Regis parish boundary as well as with the boundary of Grafton Park. The north part (SP734458) of this side has been ploughed over but the original boundary, consisting of a ditch between two banks, is visible on air photographs. Within a small copse known as Grafton Park (SP734456) a bank 1.25m high and 7m wide survives but thereafter nothing is traceable until the assumed boundary meets Watling Street (SP735450).

{2} Good survival of rampart of medieval deer park on its eastern side. Some plough damage. Soil marks also visible to north east and west. Does not disturb possible ridge and furrow furlongs and is probably set out around them.

{3} The two medieval deer parks, now disparked, still possess short lengths of rampart about 20ft wide and 5ft high; the best parts are to the east of Plum Park at SP734455.
