Full Description

{1} Earthworks of the shrunken medieval village of Great Houghton. To the west of the High Street were traces of embanked closes with former house sites at their east ends. These have been destroyed and only a short length of hollow way now survives. The remains wer already devoid of buildings before the mid 19th century.
