Bronze Age Cremation within urn was found in a sand pit in 1965

{1} A collared urn of Primary series with a Beaker type decoration, containing a cremation was found in a sand pit in 1965

EBA urn found at Milton Malsor while digging for sand. It is in possession of Mixoconcrete (Holdings) Ltd, Little Billing near Northampton. (1)

{4} The urn was found in the Milton Sand Cos' washings, which are centred SP 727 558. It was unearthed c 1964 by Mr Billing, the Foreman, at approximately SP 7265 5606 when removing top soil, and when found contained an incineration. It is a coloured urn with Beaker type decoration, now in the possession of Mrs Raynsford of Milton Malsor Manor, owner of the Milton Sand Co (with whom it was seen). The washings were opened c 1947 and Mr Billing has been there from the start, and is certain that no other antiquities have been found in them.
