{1} Excavation of the crash site of a German bomber plane in 1975 revealed an unexploded 1000lb bomb. Three similar bombs were discovered in the same field in 1993 by the landowner. The bombs were 4ft long and 18in in diamteter. The plane was shot down during a raid on Wellingborough in August 1942.
