{1} Quantities of Roman pottery are said to have been discovered in the area during modern development, but no further details are known. [SMR note 14/02/2011: incorrect grid reference given.]

{2} The grid reference given by authority {1} is inconsistent with the site being N.E. of the village. The NAR grid reference SP 8072 locates the village.
