Full Description
{1} A medieval floor was exposed rather than the anticipated eastern wing of a much larger villa. Some 38m east of the villa a cobbled floor was found, consisting of irregular limestone blocks laid directly on the natural clay, 0.6m below the present ground surface. Associated medieval pottery, so assumed to be part of a building. Only a small area of the floor was excavated.
