Full Description

{1} Excavations during 1973 showed that the earliest church at Boughton Green was dated from the late Saxon period; stone walls and Saxon pottery were found along with two burials dating to the Saxon period. Excavation also showed that in about 1200 an extension was built to the east end of the church, and a narrow north aisle added. The whole structure was demolished in the C14th when a new church was built.
