Summary

Allinson & Co. (Also formerly F. Juggins & Co.). A four storey boot and shoe factory built on the corner of Clare Street and Earl Street. This `L' plan factory is built of brick with a half hipped slate-covered roof. A datestone over the front door gives the date of construction as 1888.

{1}Circa 1880 3 storey brick building with slate roof & sub-basement; iron- framed windows; still in use in 1967 by Allinson & Company; situated on corner of Earl Street & Clare Street;

{4} Former shoe factory, plain 3 storey + basement factory

{6} A classic three-storey + basement factory with glazed roof, squatting on the corner of Clare Street/Earl Street.
