Building record 1160/68/1 - 31 Robert Street, 34 & 36 Connaught Street

Hart & Co. Shoe Manufacturers (Formerly Frederick Warren, Boot Manufacturers). This small shoe factory, built between 1884 and 1890, has two storeys and five bays. It takes the form of a rear range attached to a contemporary house, and there is some evidence to suggest that the house was partly used for industrial purposes from the outset.

{1} Circa 1890 boot & shoe factory in Robert Street/Connaught Street; two storey terrace-type 'house' with doors on second storey; adjoining lower two storey brick building with slate roof; five large windows in upper storey with only thin pillars of brick between them.

{2} 1885-90 house of two storeys and two bays, with a rear narrow two-storey range of five bays.
