Building record 1160/414/1 - 17 Robert Street

Henry Hiron, Cabinet Maker. This is probably a purpose-built cabinet factory dating from the late 1880s. Between 1928 and 1937 a part of this building was converted into a shoe factory. It is a three-storey, four-bay building with a yard to the rear located on the north side of Robert Street.

{4} c.1890 cabinet works, purpose built, though an upper storey was later used as a shoe factory. Later still the whole site became leather warehouses.
