Building record 5794/1/1 - Mill Buildings

{1} An iron waterwheel and brick wheelpit were seen adjacent to the A45. Brick and limestone walls, and rubble and clay pipe fragments were observed in the sides of the drain south of the wheel. The walls extend south and are probably associated with the mill race.

{4} Brick building used originally for corn and feed grinding; the mill was still in use in 1964 when using electricity. Some of the adjoining cottages were still inhabited. Derelict courtyard; waterwheel intact, 15ft diam x 10ft wide. Whitworth Holdings area reputed to have good records of the property.
