In 1882 a sixth furnace, 70 ft high, with'20 ft bos lies, was started and the works were the largest in the neighbourhood. With five furnaces in operation, the total output was 1100 - 1200 tons per week. By 1891 the works had closed and the furnaces were fully dismantled by 1908.
