Full Description
{1}Woolston-Praed's Brewery;
Brewery, Sheep Street
Large commercial brewery located behind 'Ye Golden Lion' public house - has now gone and been replaced with a modern office block. The sign above the alley leading to the brewery still exists. (1)
Two commercial breweries located in the town. William Dulley and John Woolston both had premises on Sheep Street. Brewing and malting of ale was a major industry in the town for many centuries. Dulley used spa water to create 'Redwell stout' - parts of the conduit he constructed from the well of the brewery survive. (1)
