Full Description

{1} Copies of 4 photos taken "about 1988" received from A Armishaw 31/3/1999. These show surface features of this underground post in good condition.

{2} In summer of 1965 RAF decided that no longer required services of ROC in low-level reporting role; last 280 or so active overground structures became redundant; Chipping Warden opened 1938; wrong ngr given <941481>; in 1943 post equiped with flares for warning aircraft of proximity of high ground; in 1960 post was resited to ngr 505519 <6469/0/1>.
