Summary
St Giles is mentioned by name from at least the late 13th century, but was probably part of the main east-west route though the late Saxon town. The route out town was blocked by the construction of the town wall post-conquest.

Full Description
{1}St Giles Street leading from St Giles Sq to St Giles Church. The road route is shown not to abutt the medieval wall perimeter
{2}St Gile's Street leading from All Saints to St Giles Church and the Medieval wall perimeter.
{3} The former roads leading out of the town, including St Giles to the east, were blocked up by the construction of the town wall.
