Full Description
{1} Area around Mallows Cotton has been inhabited from prehistoric period to medieval period with changing focus of settlement. Valley cut into two by a small stream, known in the Middle Ages as Oak Ditch; this was probably fed by river channel which demised in late medieval period (Mon 2425/0/15). The course of the stream was modified to provide water source for mill at either Mill Cotton or Mallows Cotton.
